Elisa Castagnoli specializes in corporate and business restructuring, assisting companies in financial distress. She provides legal support in drafting and filing applications for preventive composition agreements under Article 84 of the Italian Corporate Crisis and Insolvency Code (CCII), certified recovery plans (Article 56 CCII), debt restructuring agreements (Article 57 CCII and following), moratorium agreements (Article 62 CCII), tax settlements (Article 63 CCII), and liquidation composition agreements (Article 240 CCII and following). She also assists entrepreneurs in accessing negotiated crisis resolution procedures and over-indebtedness settlement procedures.

In 2014, she co-founded Portinaro-Castagnoli Law Firm with Daniele Portinaro and is a founding partner of Elexia, Avvocati & Commercialisti.
Appointments
Since 2013, she has served as a Bankruptcy Trustee and Judicial Commissioner at the Milan Court. Since 2017, she has been a crisis manager at the Crisis Settlement Body of the Milan Bar Association and the Milan Arbitration Chamber. In March 2022, she was included in the Register of Experts for Negotiated Corporate Crisis Resolution, and since March 2023, she has been listed in the Official Register of Corporate Crisis Managers.

She is a speaker at conferences on corporate crisis management and an author of articles published in leading journals on debt restructuring. She is also the editor and author of the monograph “La liquidazione giudiziale dell’imprenditore insolvente” (Judicial Liquidation of the Insolvent Entrepreneur) published in March 2023 by Giuffrè.
